Last weekend we went to Kew Gardens, a beautiful place with hot houses and acres of space in London.

The last time I visited was years ago when I was doing my degree. I spent a day drawing orchids and drinking cappuccinos with my best friend. Oh to have a whole day to draw now!

We had a fantastic day, the log trail for kids (and big kids) was a lot of fun. Each log had the species of tree carved into it. At the end of our visit we indulged in some seriously delicious gelato.

In the green houses I quickly went back into textiles mode, seeing pattern, detail and texture in the plants while taking photos. So much inspiration, for all of us.
